A quick guide to the world of eyeshadows- What is the difference between my 3$ eyeshadow palette and my 30$ eyeshadow palette? The big ol' difference is quality. A good eyeshadow (not cream) has better pigments and a finer consistency that will be richer in color, easier to blend, last longer and won't crease. To not break the bank, get those colors that you would wear everyday from a good quality brand and those other whacky seasonal colors on the cheap. The next question you are probably asking is... which colors and which brands?
Color
If you are tanned or tan easily, you're skin tone is probably warm. Any warm color will suit your skin tone nicely. Warm meaning tones that are more peachy, orange-y and golden. Getting a quality palette that's got more mediterranean colors (bronze, gold, earthy green) would probably be your best bet if you're willing to splurge. I recommend experimenting with cheaper palettes of cold colors (blues and purples) and seeing if they suit you at all. From my own observations, these colors tend to darken and age someone with a warmer skin tone.
If you are pale 365 days of the year and you don't tan because you burn or "tanning" simply means "off-white" then you can go for either warm or cold colors. So whatever palette you choose really depends on what you prefer wearing on a frequent basis.
Brands
Quality brands- NARS, Prescriptives, Stilla, Lancome, Dior...... basically all the big names at the department stores or you local Sephora :)
Cheaper brands that are great testers- Try the CS 78 piece makeup palette for a cheapo $21!
Happy eyeshadow shopping!
