Smokey eye for Asians

In my time, I have seen many blunders with the smokey eye. We all want it but only a few of us seem to get it right. Which is why, we have chosen 3 of our favorite youtube videos to show you ladies exactly how to achieve the seductive, classy smokey eye look WITHOUT looking like a panda bear. Before we begin, we have identified the 3 predominant Asian eye shapes out there and those are-

Eyes with the full double lid.

Eyes with half a double lid... I have this one and sometimes it is just dependent on how much sleep I've had the night before.

Eyes with a monolid.

As all three eyes are different, they require different methods of application. Prior to actually doing the smokey eye, you should keep in mind that you don't absolutely need to keep your smokey eye palette to charcoals and blacks. For instance, you can achieve a very sexy and smokey eye with some plums and purples or earthy green tones. Not only do these colors offer a more feminine and goddess-like alternative but they may go better with your skin tone. What you'll need-

Eyeshadows

• A super light color such as white, pearl or a really light tone of whatever shade that you're going for.
• A medium color & intensity of your shade.
• A very dark color & high intensity of your shade.

Some smokey eye palettes come with the super light, the medium, the in between medium and dark and the dark shades already! However, if you have miscellaneous colors that you're matching up, you can just mix the medium with the dark to get that in between shade.

Brushes
Some of the videos don't emphasize it but it's good to have 3 brushes available for the 3 different shades as this will save time and avoid the transfer of a dark shade in your light shade etc. For specifics on brushes, check out our post on makeup brushes (scroll straight to Brushes for your eyes).
