Great makeup powder for acne prone skin!

Good for: Acne prone skin

MAC Studio Fix powder is one of my favorites to use! It's light enough to wear daily, it covers pretty well and it stays matte on your face for most of the day. Also, I bought this for 36$ two years ago and I'm not even half way through with it. It lasts a long, long time. Here's how I pair it off for light and medium coverage:

Light Coverage (those days when I have no blemishes): Use Clinique Pore Minimizer to minimize my pores-  mostly on my nose. Dust powder on my face all around with a powder brush and I'm all set!

Medium Coverage (those days when I do have blemishes): Minimize my pores with Clinique Pore Minimizer. Use my fingers to dot concealer on my blemishes. Dust powder on my face all around with a powder brush and I'm ready to go!

Some tips:

  • Makeup on the skin stays on longer and looks better when it's put on a clean, hydrated face. If you notice flakiness then you should exfoliate and hydrate well. Remember that there's a difference between hydrating and moisturizing
  • For those nights at the club, lounge or bar, try priming your face first. I tried Smashbox the last time I went out and came home with my makeup intact. That was the first time ever.
  • Check out this video by Ricebunny for basic techniques on how to apply different types of foundation.
  • You can find this at any MAC store or order it on their site.
