Yogurt Face Mask

Good For: It helps moisturize and tighten skin, and even skin tone. Good for all skin types.

I found a cheap and effective face mask that I want to share with everyone. You only need two ingredients - yogurt and lemon if you have oily skin or yogurt and honey if you have dry skin. How did I find this tip? I was watching TV the other day, this celebrity (forgot her name) was revealing her beauty secret, which is lemon and yogurt mask. She said it is great for tightening skin, keeping it moisturized and evening skin tone.  Then I went on the web to do more research, and found similar results. Yogurt is great for deep cleansing as it removes all the dirt, and traces of makeup from your face. And it tightens and moisturizes your face. Lemon contains clarifying agents that are great for people with oily skin or skin that is prone to break out. And honey is great for people with dry skin. Since I don’t have oily skin, and it is winter time right now, yogurt and honey is my recipe.

Instructions:

  • 1-2 tablespoons of plain organic yogurt. Living in Quebec, the brand that can be easily purchased is Liberte organic yogurt. It comes in a big container.
  • 1- 2 tablespoons of honey (If you have oily skin, change this step to several drops of lemon juice. If you are really lazy and don't want to bother with lemon juice, try yogurt that already contains lemon concentrate, such as "Yoplait Original Lemon Burst".  Be careful, you do not want artificial lemon flavor. )
  • Keep mixing in a bowl
  • Apply to your face and neck, avoid eyes. If you want to be fancy, you can use a brush. Remember to apply right away, don’t leave it on the counter for too long
  • Leave it on for 15-25 minutes
  • Wash with warm water
  • Apply your regular moisturizer

Results:

I notice right away that my skin feels refreshed, tightened and soft.  It feels great knowing it is all natural ingredients. I am sold on this one and will be applying this once a week.

What's the % of yogurt? Is creamier better? I'm gonna give this a try next time I go grocery shopping.

The fattier the better. Also the more creamy it is, the better it is for application.

I live in Montreal, Liberte is the brand that I can find easily in any grocery store. They carry a lot of organic yogurt.

Tried it with honey bcuz I had no more lemon. The result: ultra soft & tight skin. Yay! Only con- I bought 2.5% yogurt which is very runny (it was dripping from my face)... next time, I'm going to go for the mediterrean 10% yogurt, that should be easier application.
