Recommended books in this post: Asian Faces by Taylor Chang-Babaian.
While scanning around, I found that there are very few books out there for Asian faces and makeup. There are some great and elaborate reads for Caucasian, Black and Latin faces (Making Faces & Face Forward by Kevyn Aucoin) but very few for the everyday Asian. Those that I did find had poor to mediocre ratings. Out of those, the following post gives a summary of the two books with the highest ratings and that are most recommended by Ethnic-Beauty-Central.com and Styles101.com.

Ethnic-Beauty-Central.com's review: "This is an excellent makeup guide for Asian beauty because it addresses the issues that are significant to Asian women regarding cosmetic products, texture, product usage, skin care, etc. Taylor uses Asian models from East Asian to South Asian ancestry to display a variety of makeup techniques. "Makeup for Asian Women" by Jacelyn Tay
Description from Editorial reviews: "This book addresses the unique concerns of Asian women, from yellow skin undertones, to ‘flat’ facial features, and other issues that many current or Western makeup guides do not pay enough attention to. This book is the result of Jacelyn’s own makeup experiences, perfected through many years of trial and error, and by observing the work of professional makeup artists. Besides some unique celebrity tips, it contains all the essentials that you will need to know to use makeup to look good."
Reviews from Amazon were so so.... And those are the only two worth mentionning in my opinion. Personally, I wasn't too impressed with the books out there, though, the first book by Taylor looks like it could be a useful collection of tips & tricks. I'd say the better source of material comes from the everyday Asian woman's blog and YouTube video. Check out our absolute favorites here: click click!

totally agree. with youtube & so many blogs out there these days, i dunno if makeup books r really worth it these days.
another peeve i have is that alot of times, when makeup "gurus" do "asian" eyes, these r women with perfectly large almond shaped eyes with creases and everything already so they end up looking beautiful with the typical bobbi brown techniques anyway! it's a sham.
